The
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will quiz the former
governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, on March 17, 2014,
Monday.
According
to SaharaReporters learned that the former governor is expected to
answer questions bordering on how he managed the state's bonds during
his eight-year tenure as the governor of the state.
The
last time the anti-graft agency had quizzed Senator Saraki, was over
the various roles he played as executive director in the defunct Societe
Generale Bank, which merged into the Heritage Bank.
Dr
Saraki, whose armed security detail was drastically reduced over the
weekend, has claimed that the renewed clampdown on him regarding his
past corrupt deeds, was the result of his recent participation in the
breakaway faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According
to a source close to the story "It would be irrational to empower your
enemies. As of now, Baraje is the chairman of the Nigeria Railways
Corporation, but if this impasse continues, (the) government might be
compelled to take a second look at Baraje’s continued chairmanship of
the Board, since he has turned his back on the government he is supposed
to be serving."
