Police Arrest Man For Murder In Enugu

Officers of the Enugu State Police Command, on Thursday, said it arrested a suspect of Enugu Ife Mgbidi in Awgu Local Government Area of the state, over his alleged involvement in the death of one James Ude.

Ebere Amarizu, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), made this known in a statement issued in Enugu.

He said the deceased was stabbed with a knife by the suspect on April 5, during a fight at Enugu Ife Mgbidi.

"The deceased was rushed to a nearby hospital after the incident, but could not survive due to the severe injury he sustained in the course of the fight" the statement said. "The police had begun investigations into the matter as the corpse had been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy’’.

Meanwhile, the police have also commenced investigations into the alleged murder of a 17-year old boy, Chidiebere Ede, who resides at No. 10, Ugwuoke Street in Abakpa area of the state.
