Breaking News: Judge finds Oscar Pistorius not guilty of murder

Judge Masipa has read much of her judgement and she's just found Oscar Pistorius not guilty of murder. The judge said there were not enough facts to prove the most serious charge of pre-meditated murder. She said the case was based entirely on circumstantial evidence and dismissed the witness testimony. She said the witnesses were unreliable as they were confused when giving testimony and said most of what they said weren't accurate. She said even if Oscar was evasive with some facts, and was a 'very poor' witness, it doesn't mean he's guilty of murder.

She explained that Oscar's reaction after killing Reeva shows he didn't have criminal intent, hadn't foreseen he'd killed her. She said he could not have faked his reaction minutes after the shoo
ting. She even dismissed the whatsapp message between the lovers, saying relationships are dynamic. She also said evidence did not support the state's claim of second degree murder.

"The state has not proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused is guilty of premeditated murder. There are just not enough facts to support such a finding'- she said.

While he's not guilty of premeditated murder, he awaits to find out if he's guilty of culpable homicide (manslaughter) which is the negligent death of another. It means there was no intention to kill but the killing is unlawful. The court has adjourned for early lunch.

Divorce Saga: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Finally Speaks Up

After over a week of remaining silent on the divorce suit filed against him by his wife, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church has finally addressed the allegations. Pastor Chris, who spoke on the evening of Sunday, September 7 during the monthly global communion service of the church, described the allegations as ‘crazy’ and ‘stupid’.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Pastor Christ Oyakhilome
According to him, divorce was not biblical but if his wife insists on it, he could consider it as an option.
Christians should not have a divorce, it shouldn’t be, but you see, that doesn’t mean a Christian may not take the step. They may do it, but that doesn’t make it right,” Pastor Chris said.
He said being married to a man of God doesn’t automatically make you a woman of God and that is why you don’t really find wives of Men of God listed in the Bible.

New report claims adultery is not Anita Oyakhilome’s ground for divorce

There were reports last week that pastor Anita Oyakhilome, the wife of Christ Embassy Head Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is seeking to divorce him on the grounds of 'adultery' & ‘unreasonable behaviour’ but a new report is claiming this is not true.

According to ThisDay, who said they have a copy of the court papers for the divorce process filed at the Principal Registry of the Family Division (PRFD) of the High Court of Justice, Anita filed for divorce on the ground that 'the marriage has broken down irretrievably.'

"I wasn't hired by Nigerian Govt" hostage negotiator Stephen Davis allegedly says

Australian hostage negotiator Stephen Davis who has been widely described as a man hired by the Nigerian government to negotiate with Boko Haram in an effort to help free the Chibok girls, has allegedly said he was not in Nigeria (for four months) at the request of the federal government.

In an interview with Soni Daniel, which was published on Vanguard today, Stephen allegedly said he was never engaged by the Nigerian government to dialogue with the sect.
"I was not engaged by the Federal Government of Nigeria, any state government or any other party. I went to Nigeria in late April in an effort to facilitate a handover of the Chibok captives after discussing such a possibility with former commanders of JAS (Jama’atu Ahlul Sunnah Lih Da’awa wal Jihad otherwise known as JAS) and others close to Boko Haram. Why did you release the report of your assignment to the media instead of sending it to government? I did not construct a report of my efforts in Nigeria. As I said earlier, I was not engaged by any party and therefore had no obligation to report to anyone." Continue...

"I am not gay" - Mr Universe Nigeria says

In an interview with The Nation, current Mr Universe Nigeria, Francis Egwuatu, said that because he went for a male pageant doesn't mean he's gay...
"I am not gay, and it is very annoying when people make such comments. There was this girl that added me on twitter. She was like; ‘Tell me the truth, are you gay?’ It was so annoying. Some people think that for you to win the pageant you must be gay and men must sleep with you and all, but that’s not true. I just wish I could do a story and the heading will just be ‘I am not gay’. People have concluded in their mind that we are gays. Even when I was profiled on Linda Ikeji’s blog, there were comments like, gay alert; the guy is gay and all that. People feel if you are a male pageant contestant, the only hard work you need to do is to sleep in the room. That’s a negative thought, but I believe a person with a positive thought won’t think like that. For me, you just have to be positive; you just have to believe in yourself. I have gone for pageants that I lost (Mr. Tourism Nigeria), but that didn’t stop me from going for more.
What does he think of gays? Find his answer after the cut...

Cardinal Okojie speaks on Chris & Anita Oyakhilome divorce drama, says 'are they true pastors'?

Speaking with a Vanguard reporter recently, Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, said the drama going on between Pastors Chris and Anita Oyakhilome is disturbing. He said when pastors refuse to honour the vows they took at the altar of God, what do they expect from the ordinary members of their congregation?
“When the going was good, they took vows on the altar of God to stay together in sickness and in health, until death do them part. They promise to make one another faithful partner in the presence of God, their family and friends and vow to be each other’s faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. (with their separation ) It shows that they cannot live by what they preach. The Bible says: ‘What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.’ So why are they putting asunder what the good Lord has joined together if they are men of God as they claim?”Okojie said...
