McDonalds has made a new golden arch enemy - a California man is suing the company for $1.5million... because he says he only got one napkin with his meal. Webster Lucas claims he was stiffed on napkins at the Mickey D's in Pacoima, CA on January 29th -- after ordering a Quarter Pounder Deluxe - and when he went up to the counter to ask for more, he was rudely rebuffed by the manager ... who insisted he already got some. She said: "I have always been an enthusiastic runner and I don't see any reason why I need to stop just because I'm pregnant.
I took an easy pace and didn't overstretch myself, and my doctor told me the carrying on exercising is the best way to ensure a healthy baby is born."
The expectant mother took inspiration from Paula Radcliffe MBE who ran twice a day during the first five months of her 2006 pregnancy.

YOBE SLAIN STUDENTS: Fashola Renames 'His' Hall To 'Peace Hall' in Memory of Children
On Thursday, February 27, Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State renamed a hall initially named after him to “Peace Hall’’, in memory of slain school children in Yobe.
On February 25, about 43 children of the Federal Government College, Burni Yadi, Yobe, were killed by members of the Boko Haram Sect.
Previously, the hall was named after Fashola by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG). The hall was constructed by the Lagos Zonal Council of the NUPENG, located at Fadeyi in Lagos.

You Can't Believe Number Of Chairmanship Positions PDP Wins In Plateau Polls
The ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has won majority
of the chairmanship positions in the local government councils election
held in Plateau State on 25 February.
According to the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), in a results released today (Friday), PDP won 14 of the chairmanship positions declared.
Fifteen local governments participated in the exercise after two – Jos North and Wase, were excluded over security concerns.
PLASIEC Chairman, Mr Peter Dalyop, who declared the results in Jos, said that the chairmanship results from Langtang North Local Government were inconclusive.
“There will be a re-run election in Jat Ward in Langtang North on March 3, 2014, to determine the winner of the Chairmanship seat,” he said.

ALUU 4: Trial of Murder Suspects Suspects Has Finally Begun
Today, February 28, the trial of the suspects who were allegedly involved in the killing of four students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has finally begun.
Justice Letan Nyordee, the presiding judge, explained that the ruling indicates the commencement of the trial. And Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Raphael Ezeji told the court that Segun Lawal, the first accused person, made two statements confirming his involvement in the crime.
During his cross examination, Segun Lawal confirmed to the court that he was present at the scene of the incident in Omuokiri as shown in the video. He admitted that his statement to the police is correct.
However, Lawal also insisted that he was tortured and induced into making the statements.
Counsel J. Kehinde made reference to section 28 of the evidence act and asked the court dismiss Segun’s guilty statement as evidence in the matter because he made it under duress.
Solicitor General of Rivers State, Rufus Godwins countered the submission of the representative of the first accused by also making reference to section 131 subsection 2 of the same evidence act.
Justice Nyordee adjourned till 13th of March for continuation of the trial.
BARBARIC: Policemen Attack Youths Who Were Protesting Yobe Killings (PHOTO)
Armed policemen in Abuja on Thursday used tear gas to disperse youths protesting the killing of school children in Yobe State.

About 50 youths gathered at the Unity Fountain Park in the central area of Abuja in the morning to express their outrage over the recent killing of students by ‘Boko Haram’ in the north-east.
The youths were carrying placards and singing solidarity songs in what was as yet a peaceful demonstration when the police descended on them.
The police confronted the youths and while beating some of the protesters, used tear gas and riot dispersal techniques to chase them out of Unity Fountain, adjacent the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.

“But the soldiers were able to fish out dozens of the extremists. Immediate extermination was carried out, but you don’t expect the military to come out and announce such.
“By convention, the military cannot admit ‘merciless retaliation’ as it is called,” the source added.
On the comments by people saying that the soldiers ran away from the community during the attack, the source advised those people to get their facts right.
He said the dastardly act has, as expected, attracted the reaction of well-meaning individuals who have been condemning the senseless bloodletting.

Kannywood Actress, Rabi Mustapha Passes Away
On Wednesday, February 26, popular Kannywood actress, Rabi Mustapha, died after a brief illness in Kano.She has already been buried according to Islamic rites.
On Thursday, at her family house in Kano, friends and colleagues trooped in to condole with the deceased’s family.
A family friend, Aliyu Ahmed said Kannywood industry had really lost a talent.
“Rabi is among the best if not the best singer in Kannywood. She will surely be missed, no doubt about it. Everybody is here with the family; Kannywood has been at a standstill since yesterday (Wednesday) evening till this morning,” said Ahmed.
Singer Rabi would be remembered in Kannywood for her singing, especially in the movies Mujadala, Muradi and Ukuba.
One of her last public performances was at her colleague, Fati Musa’s, wedding in December 2013.
She was one of the first singers in the industry, performing alongside Yakubu Mohammed.

Over the weekend, reports surfaced online that Nollywood star, Jim Iyke, had been involved in an accident, while driving a Chevrolet Camero belonging to Nadia Buari, in Accra. But today Jim has denied being involved in in any car accident.
The reports further said he went into a coma following the accident.

The accident was said to have occurred around Ikeja Shopping Mall, Lagos state.
The actor who was driving reportedly lost control of the vehicle as a result of break failure which then led to the accident.
Although the car is a complete write-off, Jide Kosoko was immediately given emergency medical treatment by 7-up & LASTMA Emergency officials before he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for further treatment.
Efforts to reach the actor has been abortive. But a Yoruba actor, Yomi Fabiyi confirmed the story saying the actor is in stable condition.
Jide Kosoko who has remained one of the few actors that have successfully featured in Yoruba and English movies is married to two wives Karimat and Henrietta (popular Yoruba actress)
He was born in 1954 in Lagos Island to a royal family and has been acting since he was 10 years old when he joined a theatre group. He attended Yaba College of Technology where he studied Business Administration.

He was born in 1954 in Lagos Island to a royal family and has been acting since he was 10 years old when he joined a theatre group. He attended Yaba College of Technology where he studied Business Administration.
UPDATE: Fulanis Murder Two, Raze Over 50 Houses, Destroy Farm Yield In Plateau State
Plateau State - Suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked Diyam-Rim of Riyom LGA, Rakok and Razat of Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State, leaving at least two dead and over 50 houses burnt.
According to eyewitness, the attackers came to Diyam-Rim at about 2 a.m. on Thursday, February 27. The raid lasted for about an hour, two persons were killed and two others injured.
The villages, almost deserted by residents following previous similar attacks, have been razed to the ground by the gunmen.
Local residents report the two killed persons were members of the same family shot in their sleep by gunmen. The two victims who sustained wounds are currently receiving medical treatment.
The rampaging gunmen burnt, as different reports suggest, from 50 to 120 housese, farm yield, vehicles and almost everything in the area.
Interim Administrator of Barkin Ladi local government, Habila Dung confirmed the incident, adding the gunmen destroyed everything they came across.

Barkin Ladi local government area of the state.
The other attack on Rakok and Razat in Barkin Ladi left over 120 houses and farm produce burnt by the assailants.
Interim Administrator of Barkin Ladi local government, Habila Dung told newsmen on phone that the unknown gunmen stormed the villages in the early hours of yesterday morning destroying everything they came across.
