Court Dissolves 4-Year-Old Marriage Over Wife's Talking Habit

The marriage between, Dayo Adeoye and his wife, Kemi, was on Monday dissolved by an Ilorin Area Court on the ground that the wife is a talkative.

The 39-year-old man, who resides at Offa Garage area of Ilorin, had told the court that his wife was unreserved and could not keep secrets.

The plaintiff told the court that his wife was a talkative and has the habit of always revealing her marital secrets to her friends.

“My wife cannot keep any secret because she will reveal it to her so called friends who will only mock her behind” he said.

According to him, their marriage was contracted in 2010 and was yet to produce any child.
“I want an end to this marriage because I cannot continue with someone who will expose all my plans to the external parties through her talkative habit,” he said.  

The accused, who did not object to her husband’s request, told the court to grant it.

“I think a problem shared is half solved and that is the reason I prefer seeking for advice from friends when necessary” she said.

The presiding judge, Yusuf Abdulkareem, dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.
