| Macaulay Udoma is taken to jail |
It was gathered that Macaulay was always a great misfortune for the whole family as he was constantly pilfering money and valuables from home. Wherever the relatives hid the money he always found them.
“I have been wondering how he locates where there is money in the family house. No matter where you hide money, he will locate and steal it,” the senior Udoma revealed.
Father's patience snapped when Macaulay burgled his office at 7 Ona-Aro street Idimu, Lagos and stole some bank cheque booklets. The young man was caught and handed over to the police at Idimu Division. Nevertheless, when arraigned, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Mr Udoma begged the court to put his son in prison as soon as possible as Macaulay would not let him have peace in his home. He is now facing a 5-count charge of stealing under the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs M.B. Folami granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was, however, remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 25 June 2014.
