Graphic photos: Man beaten almost to death by mob in Jos after he killed his own mother

This incident happened in the early hours of today 15 October around 4am, in Jenta Adamu, Jos, Plateau state. The man said to be 35 years old, attacked and killed his own mother by chopping off her head with a machete after accusing her of being a witch. When youths in the area heard what he had done, they pounced on him, tied him up and beat him to a coma. They then called the police who took him away. Rotimi Amaechi's ministerial screening will now hold Tuesday next week

The ministerial screening for former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi will now hold on Tuesday October 20th. The senate committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition will address all petitions filed against Amaechi and present its findings to the house today during plenary. His screening will then hold next week.

No sacred cow in the war against corruption - Osinbajo

VP Yemi Osinbajo yesterday said that the fight against corruption in Nigeria by this present administration will have no sacred cow. Osinbajo said this at the ongoing Nigeria Economic Summit holding in Abuja. Osinbajo said the law that drives anti-corruption must be applied to everyone.

Boko Haram urges Somali's Al-Shabaab terror group to join Islamic State


In a video posted on Twitter on Wednesday, October 14, Boko Haram extremists urged Somalia's Al-Shabaab terror group to join them in pledging allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State group, and thus abandon al-Qaida.

In the video, an unidentified armed Boko Haram fighter tells Al-Shabaab fighters that uniting "is of greater benefit to the struggle on the path of Islam" and will "help in defeating the infidels of the world." The appeal is part of a wider courting of Al-Shabab. Similar messages came nearly two weeks ago from militant extremists in Iraq,Sinai, Syria, and Yemen.

Obama orders 300 troops to Cameroon to support fight against Boko Haram

President Obama on Wednesday, October 14, said he had ordered 300 troops to Cameroon to work with West African soldiers seeking to counter the Nigerian extremist group Boko Haram. In a letter to Congress, Obama said that the troops would provide “intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance” in the region.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police vows to arrest Festac robbers

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni has vowed to arrest perpetrators of the bank robbery on 4th Avenue, Festac town which took place on Tuesday, October 13. Owoseni made the statement on Wednesday, October 14, while speaking with The Guardian. He said that the incident has challenged the police in the command to rise up to new trends in robbery operations. He added that the police was closing in on the hoodlums and all has been put in place to ensure the suspects were captured.

Photos: Woman gives birth while on a plane flying from Taiwan to LA

The unnamed 32-weeks pregnant woman was flying from her home country of Taiwan to Los Angeles with China Airlines when she went into labour. According to reports, when her water broke six hours into the 19-hour flight, panicked staff called for medical assistance on the flight. Fortunately, a doctor responded and was able to successfully deliver the baby girl while being filmed.

Why Buhari withdrew Ahmed Ibeto as a ministerial nominee

Reports have emerged on why President Buhari withdrew the nomination of Ahmed Musa Ibeto from Niger state from his list of ministers. According to confirmed sources, Ibeto's nomination was withdrawn because he is from the same place as the Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello.

I came to Lagos to steal cars and become rich - Armed robbery suspect confesses

A convicted car snatcher, Somadina Enyiobi, 26, confessed that he left his village in Oraifite in Anambra State to Lagos state with a mission to steal and become a successful rich man.

According to a report by PM News, Somadina made the confession during his trial at the Isolo Magistrates’ court where he was convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment without an option of fine for conspiracy and stealing.

Lagos prostitute bites off client's ear over more sex (photo)


36 year old prostitute, Precious Osas has been arrested and  charged before an Isolo Magistrates’ Court for biting off the ear of 25 year old Omokwa Chikwado. P.M News reports, the incident occurred over a scuffle, which started after the couple had had sex at an unidentified hotel in Okota, Lagos State, where they spent the night.
