Gunmen Kidnap Health Workers In Northern Nigeria

Some unknown gunmen on Sunday abducted three polio workers, including a woman in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

 It was learnt that the victims were picked up by the gunmen while moving from house to house, immunising children against polio in the council area.
 
It was gathered that immediately the gunment left, residents informed the police, who went after them.

Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident and said the three polio workers abducted were two men and a woman.

Haruna Mohammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, also said one of the men and the woman had been released.

He added that the police were making efforts to secure the release of the second man who is the Health Officer of Darazo Local Government Area.

The PPRO advised people in the area to remain calm and law abiding and cooperate with the police in order to secure the release of the detainee and also arrest the perpetrators.
