Fg especially talked about the recent rumour concerning the bathing with salt water being circulated via SMS and the social media as a cure for Ebola, saying that anyone caught doing such illegal activity would be prosecuted.

The virus was brought to the country by the Liberian man Patrick Sawyer, who was rushed to the hospital from the Lagos Airport with Ebola symptoms and died two days following the admission. The second patient to die in Nigeria from Ebola was a nurse who attended Sawyer.
With the rapid spread of the virus in the country, the Federal Government requested the experimental drug from the US, which drug is believed to have saved lives of 2 Americans. However President Obama said it was too early to send the drug, which had not yet undergone all the necessary safety trials, to Africa.
