Tensions were high between a presidential convoy and hundreds of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) protesting students on in the morning of May 22, 2014, Thursday.
It has been
gathered that participants of #OAUsaysNO rally blocked the 6-vehicle
convoy, led by a bullet-proof Toyota SUV, in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Security personnel have fired several shots in an attempt to disperse the raging students.
The witnesses informed PremiumTimes via phone that two students have been wounded as the result of “sporadic” shots fired.
