Wickedness: Mother Burns Her 11-Year Old Son For Stealing (See Photo)

An 11-year-old boy at New Takoradi Lower Town of Ghana had his face and parts of his body burnt with an electric iron by his mother for allegedly stealing GH¢5.00, an equivalent of N276 belonging to his friend.

The victim, Bernard Asafua had denied stealing the money which angered his 28-year-old mother who allegedly injured him with a hot iron after subjecting him to severe beatings.

Bernard was said to have confessed committing the offence after the severe beating he got.
According to sources, he was rescued by his grandmother who rushed to the scene when she heard him scream from the beating and also the pains he was feeling from the burns.

He was quickly rushed to the New Takoradi Health Centre for treatment, but due to the severity of the burns, he was later transferred to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital where is currently receiving treatment.

The mother has been arrested by the Takoradi police as investigations into the incident continue.
