Several female topless activists from the exhibitionist feminist group FEMEN was detained by French police on May 1, Wednesday.
The
group launched a regular protest against a traditional march held by
the far-right National Front (FN) party on May Day. The sextremists
claim that their campaign aimed at fight with fascist epidemic infecting
all Europe.
FN
was expected to announce coaliation of all European radical right
wing’s parties in his May Day speech. At least two topless women with
soiled FN's logo appeared in front of the extreme right wing euro deputy
Bruno Gollnisch, shouting "Fascist Epidemic" and "No to The Fascist
Union", trying to delay the departure of the demonstration.
At
their official Facebook page they urge French people to get out of
their beds and rise up against the pending risk lingering on
Europe. They also promise that sextremist resistence will keep on
growing to resist a spreading fascist contamination.
Despite
the detention the attempts to disrupt the event didn't end - a couple
of hours later another FEMEN member trying to frustrate FN's leader
speech was arrested. FN is polling at more than 30% nationwide and is
expected to score a historic result at the EU elections.
The FEMEN organization became internationally known for organizing controversial topless protests against sex tourism, religious institutions, sexism and other social, national and international topics. In October 2013 FEMEN had its largest membership in France: 30 local activists in January 2013.
