Police Boss Visits Scene Of Bomb Explosions In Jos


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, on Wednesday visited the scenes of the twin bomb explosions that happened on Tuesday in Jos, Plateau State

While at the scene of the tragic incident, the police boss stated that the Federal Government was fully committed to ending terrorism in the country.

Vanguard online reports that Abubakar also visited some injured persons at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, where he described the bomb attacks as “very cruel and saddening”.

The IGP also praised the Plateau Government’s determination in the war against terrorism and promised that he would continue to work with the state to bring an end to insurgency in the state.
Abubakar also commended security agencies in the state for their excellent handling of the incident immediately after it happened and encouraged them to sustain that attitude.

Also, the Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Sani Sidi, who was with the police boss as he went round the scenes of the bomb explosions, pledged NEMA’s readiness to assist the victims.

No fewer than 118 persons have been confirmed dead and several others injured in the blasts that hit Terminus market in Jos on Tuesday afternoon.
