
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested the suspect, Mr. Nriagwu Augustine Ifeanyi while he was trying to check-in into a Turkey-bound flight. Augustine had with him 1.370 kilogrammes of whitish powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine during the screening of passengers on a Turkish Airline flight at the departure hall of the airport.
Mr. Hamza Umar, who is the NDLEA Commander at the Lagos Airport revealed that the suspect concealed the hard drugs in his laptop bag like two gift items. Upon interrogating the suspect, Umar said the suspect would have proceeded to South Sudan upon arrival at Turkey, if he had not been nabbed.
Meanwhile, Ahmadu Giade, the NDLEA Chairman has said, "Drug traffickers would be handed stiffer penalties to deter others from engaging in the criminal act when a man excreted 52 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine with a weight of 900 grammes recently.
